A moderation queue that respects contributors

Our queue works, but decisions feel arbitrary from the outside. What makes moderation legible without publishing every private detail?

Give each decision a named reason from a short list, and show that reason to the author. Consistency is easier to accept than speed.

Put the content, the report, the author history, and the automation signals on one screen. Moderators guess when they have to click around.

Keep an audit trail with who decided and when. It protects the moderator as much as the member.

Offer one appeal route with a real response. A queue with no way back turns every mistake into a departure.
